About Us

Jim Staveley established Greener Places Ltd having worked in local government for over 25 years.  Greener Places Ltd aims to help others to create, improve, maintain and use outdoor living and learning environments.  These include private gardens, school grounds, farmland and the wider countryside.  He is passionate about the environment and is particularly keen to engage and enthuse young people to enjoy and care for it.

His early passion for nature and the countryside led Jim to train in Horticulture and Countryside Management at the Lincolnshire College of Agriculture and Horticulture and Merrist Wood Agricultural College in Surrey.

He has spent most of his career working in the environmental sector as a Park Ranger, Countryside Ranger, Farms and Communities Officer and a Learning and Development Officer.

He has vast experience in delivering high quality environmental projects ranging from habitat management and community schemes, to working in schools developing areas for outdoor learning and biodiversity.

Jim has the expertise and skills to provide a high quality, cost effective, professional and dependable service.  He prides himself on excellent craftmanship and attention to detail in everything he does.

Greener Places Ltd is fully insured and Jim holds a current Enhanced CRB check.  The company is also registered with the Environment Agency as a Waste Carrier, so you can be assured that all waste removed during operations will be disposed of legally and sustainably.
